Jill,
You would have been fifty-four today. But what is time? It makes us, changes us, moves us and then leaves us.
All I know is I miss you. God will grant us our eternity. . . Sleep in peace. If we should awake, we will awake together. As I said "one-ness" can only come "once". And as we always said "Thank God, we are us".
Eternally yours, Love, Jim

Jill,
It's been 2 years and nine months since your passing.
Sometimes I feel that you're looking over me putting beauty into my life, so that I can continue my journey until God reunites us. Other times all I feel is lost . . . empty.
I remember we'd see couples bickering about "compromise", and which spouse "got their way". I remember us just looking at each other and saying "thank God we are us". For us there was no debate, we were truly one. I guess I need to tell myself that "one-ness" can only come "once". While you are at rest, I now live in the "ordinary world". . . all is different, no place, no one, no thing is the same.
I'd ask you for help but I don't want to disturb your rest, you went through too much. So as I always write, Sleep my love, God will grant us our eternity.
Love, Your Husband, Best friend and Soulmate,
Jim

Jill,
It’s been 2 years and 4 months today (and the second St. Valentine’s Day) since your passing. So here is my thought for you about love:
Time changes, the world changes, they say even the universe constantly changes, but I can tell you this - love does not change. I will always love you and that says everything about us, and about love itself.
Sleep, God will grant us our eternity.

Jill,
It's been two years and three months since your passing. In past posts I always focus on our love which continues . . .
But, during this holiday season I received correspondences that made me reflect on just how many lives you touched, how much you are loved and how many love you, now and for all time. So sleep my love knowing how highly you are thought of, and how much you have done (and I'm sure continue to do). God will grant us our eternity.

It’s been 2 years and one month since your passing. When I'll stop counting I do not know (probably never)? All I know is that there seems to be less words, but never less love.
On the contrary the love only grows. Sleep my love. God will grant us our eternity.

Jill,
It’s been 2 years today since your passing.
"Devastation" is the only word I can think of to sum up the feelings I had as the second year of your passing grew near. In previous posts I questioned what the "year of seconds" would bring, now I have my answer . . . somehow I keep going. That is a testiment to your strength.  I keep going, keep trying,  keep loving and keep believing in Christ, in part to survive, but to also honor your memory.  I want you to be proud of me and to be worthy of you, my sleeping angel. Know as you sleep I love you more with every passing year. The blessings that have come my way since your passing I know have been through your kind, gentle requests to God.  So thank you once again, and rest my love, we will have our eternity.

Jill,
It's been 1 year and eleven months since your passing. I tried to find an appropriate quote to post. For some reason the thought that next month will mark two years since your passing frightened me. Maybe because time (which I thought I had so eloquently figured out) has not lessened the hurt, nor has time made your passing easier. I hope and pray one day I will be able to shake the fear, abandon reasoning and come to terms with the fact that "normalcy" is a misnomer or at best a temporary state. All that is certain is my love for you is eternal. I'll work this out, for the two of us. So please don't worry. Sleep my love. As I've said so many times we will awake together.

Love, Your Husband, Best Friend and Soulmate,
Jim

Jill,
It's been 1 year and ten months since your passing.  You would have been 51 this month. The same age that I was when you passed.  That says something about time. I think Bono was correct when he sang, "Time is irrelevant, it's not linear".  We're raised to think that each year will bring better answers, more understanding, more wisdom - but time only leaves us with more questions. As you sleep I feel as if we're an eternity apart, yet my memories say just the opposite, we are eternally together as one. Time is irrelevant, our love is eternal.  Our love is not linear to be measured  in increments. Our love,  simply is. So sleep my love.  We will awake together, not through the constrains of time but rather through the strength and liberation of our love.

Love, Your Husband, Best Friend and Soulmate,

It's been 1 year and nine months since your passing. Each passing month becomes more unbearable, but I'm trying. I did finish your tribute CD. You can listen to it as you sleep or we'll listen when we awake together.
The inscription on the back cover, next to your picture, reads "Jill . . . Every Note is Yours". So sleep my love.

It's been 1 year and eight months since your passing. This week I read and sang "Pete the Cat" to a kindergarten class at Point Pleasant Elementary. The children had a great time. I see why you loved them. When I was packing up my guitar three little kids came up and hugged me, one gave me a peck on the cheek. I could feel your kindness . . . thank you.
Sleep my love.

It’s been 1 year and 4 months today (and the second St. Valentine’s Day) since your passing. People say the year of “firsts” is the hardest. I’m not sure. The year of seconds leaves me with more things I want to tell you and less words to say it with. So, I’ll say the only thing I can. I love you. Sleep, God will grant us our eternity.

Jill,
My sleeping Christmas Angel. It's been a little over 1year and 2months since your passing (and our second Christmas with you asleep). I'm trying to hold on to the spirit of the holiday in your generous and loving way. So rest my love knowing that we continue to be as one.
For some reason an old folk song (by Jim Croce) came to mind this morning. I don't know if we ever listened to it together. The opening verse reads:
"Snowy nights and Christmas lights
Icy window panes
Make me wish that we could be
Together again
And the windy winter avenues
Just don't seem the same
And the Christmas carols sound like blues
But the choir is not to blame"

Sleep my love. As you said, “Always and forever”. That’s us. Thank God “we are us”.

Jill,
Its been one year today since your passing. I'm posting you the lyrics to a Scott Weiland song.  Remember the night we saw him live? It was really loud, somehow you fell asleep in my arms.  It reminds me that even though you are asleep you still hear everything. The song is entitled "Fall to Pieces":
"It's been a long year
Since you've been gone
I've been alone here
I've grown old
I fall to pieces, I'm falling
Fell to pieces and I'm still falling
Every time I'm falling down
All alone I fall to pieces
I keep a journal of memories
I'm feeling lonely, I can't breathe
All the years I've cried
With more to go
Will the memories die
I'm waiting
Will I find you
Can I find you
We're falling down
I'm falling
Every time I’m falling down
All alone I fall to pieces"
Sleep my love.  I'll be there when you wake.
Eternally yours, Your Husband, Best friend and Soulmate

Jill,
It’s been nine months since your passing. Every day I miss and love you more.
I bought a plaque last week and hung it by our wedding photo. It reads “Every once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life Love gives us a Fairytale”. I think it fits us because you are my Sleeping Beauty. In the actual fairytale, Sleeping Beauty lays unconscious as her true love fights battle after battle until he finally reaches her. They kiss, she awakes and they live happily ever after - in a better kingdom. I always thought it was a children’s story but maybe it’s a wise parable. So, sleep in peace my love and I’ll keep fighting. I will make my way to you and we will have our, “happily ever after”.
Eternally yours, Your Husband, Best friend and Soulmate

Jill,
It’s been eight months today since your passing. This month, a tree was planted in your honor and a park bench placed outside your classroom dedicated to your memory. Always know, "your memory” and legacy is something I preserve for all those who knew and loved you. However, for me you are not a memory, you are part of me. When you passed, part of me passed. Likewise, for as long as I live, you live and as soulmates we are, and always will be together – we are one. As you said, “Always and forever”. That’s us. Thank God “we are us”.

Jill,
It’s been seven months today since your passing. It’s also Mother’s Day, and I wanted to thank you for being such a good mother to so many; the countless children who you taught, the pets that you cared for and the genuine kindness you showed everyone. In the dictionary the word “mother” when used as a verb is defined as “to bring up with care and affection”. By that definition, you were the living embodiment of maternal. For you, bringing care and affection to those around you came naturally. I miss you more than words can describe and still love you more every day. As you said, “Always and forever”. That’s us. Thank God “we are us”.

But I don’t want you to worry - it will be alright, because every day those feelings are over shadowed by my increasing love for you, my eternal devotion to us, and the knowledge that you feel the same - as soulmates we will have eternity. Your passing was so untimely, you’ve been through enough. So, this time let me take the punches. You rest. Surround yourself in the knowledge that no love is stronger than ours and no one has, or will ever, love anyone as much as I love you.

I am saddened to hear about Jill's passing. I enjoyed working with her and watching her interactions with students. She will be greatly missed.
