Gaitley, William H.
On August 12, 2019, William H. Gaitley, WWII Army Veteran and longtime resident of Pasadena, passed away at age 93. William and his wife Johanna, both devout Catholics, were members of St. Jane Frances Parish since the days of the "little white church". He retired many years ago from his job in the automotive industry and enjoyed working in his vegetable garden happily sharing his tomatoes with others. Mr. Gaitley also enjoyed his other hobby of making toys for little girls and boys. Fishing out on the Chesapeake Bay was a favorite pastime, and living in a home on the shore there was always lots of family and friends for company on the weekends. He truly loved those family gatherings.
Mr. Gaitley was the beloved husband of Johanna Gaitley (nee Obrigkeit) for 70 years; loving father of Michael Starr Gaitley; cherished brother of Selma Lamb and the late Gertrude Brown, George and Bernard Gaitley and Kathleen Kreppel.
Friends may visit Gonce Funeral Service P.A., 169 Riviera Drive on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jane Frances Church on Friday at 10 am. Mr. Gaitley will be buried with Military Honors in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville at a later date.
