Troy Carter, 59, of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on January 24, 2025. Born on February 20, 1965, Troy was the beloved husband of Shelly Carter, with whom he shared 19 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his son, Jacob Carter.
Troy was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Opal Jaynes; his stepfather, John Antolik; and his sister, Teresa Gosselin.
He leaves behind his wife, Shelly Carter; son, Jacob Carter; mother, Billie Antolik, father, Bethel Carter; sister, Kristi Will (Jeremy); and brother, John Antolik II. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia Combs, father-in-law, Wayne Combs, brother-in-law, Anthony Combs (Heather); sister-in-law, Carrie Long (Kenny); and brother-in-law, Kevin Combs (Donna), along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many close friends.
Troy had a distinguished 30-year career with the Department of Defense (DoD). He was passionate about spending time with his son Jacob, and those who had the privilege of knowing him would agree that his unique sense of humor and kind spirit made him unforgettable.
Troy’s presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Family requests relatives and friends visit Gonce Funeral Service, 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Sunday (2/2/2025) from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held Monday (2/3/2025) at 12 PM.
