On December 1, 2025, Thomas MacDonald passed away at age 63. He was the beloved husband of Tina MacDonald (nee Bryant); devoted father of Thomas W. MacDonald; dear stepfather of Victor, Jack and Tonya; loving son of Noemi and the late Edward MacDonald; cherished brother of Ruth MacDonald-Shulse, Mary Carissimo and Edward MacDonald; also blessed with grandchildren Catalina, Logan, Brynn, and one great grandson Lorenzo; and had a loving extended family.
Thomas MacDonald was a proud U.S. Army veteran and Staff Sergeant, a decorated Non-Commissioned Officer who served his country with honor and earned the lasting respect of those he led. His military service remained one of the great points of pride in his life, and he carried those values of discipline, loyalty and camaraderie into everything he did. A lifelong resident of Curtis Bay, Maryland, he later continued his commitment to service as a Baltimore City Police Officer and Maryland State Police Officer, ultimately retiring after years of dedicated work. Thomas loved watching football and lacrosse, especially the annual Army-Navy game he looked forward to every year. He was a talented leather craftsman, enjoyed listening to jazz and Spanish music, and adored his cigars. Known for telling military stories with humor and warmth, he loved to make people laugh. His stories will be shared and remembered by all who knew him.
Visiting will be at Gonce Funeral Service, 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Sunday (December 7, 2025) from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
