      It is with great sadness that we share the news that Theresa (Teri) Gillespie (Smith) passed away on August 30, 2021 at her home in Columbia, SC.  Teri was born on January 12, 1961 in Baltimore, MD and attended Brooklyn Park High School.  Columbia, SC has been her home for the past 17 years.

      She was the devoted mother of Mark Gillespie, Jr. (Alicia) and Tara Herlihy (Danielle).  She was the loving “Mimi” to her grandchildren, Madison, Aiden, Patrick, Adley and Mason.

      Teri was predeceased by her fiancé, Patrick Herlihy, her brother Michael Smith and her grandparents, William and Gertrude Bush.  In addition to her children, she is also survived by her parents Richard and Anne Smith, her siblings Rich Smith (Terri), Patti Keele (Mike), Sharon Florey (Jeff) and her sister-in-law, Kim Smith.   She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

      Family requests relatives and friends visit Gonce Funeral Home, 4001 Ritchie Highway on Friday, September 10, from 5 to 7 PM.  Funeral service will begin at 7 PM.

      In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to amedisys Hospice, 1900 Sunset Boulevard, Suite 103, West Columbia, SC 29169.
