Alvey, Thelma "Dinky"
Thelma "Dinky" Evelyn Alvey (84) was peacefully called home by the Lord at her residence on May 15, 2021, to be with her beloved late husband of 65 years, John Leo Alvey. Thelma was born on January 23, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland, to her late parents Forrest Smith and Thelma Tourney. She was a long time resident of Pasadena, MD, where she raised all 5 of her children. Thelma and her husband John owned and operated Baltimore International Transportation from 1971 to 2013. Thelma was a member of the Auxiliary at the American Legion Post 77. Thelma was known as "Mom" or "Mom Mom" to everyone around her. Thelma lived a full life, centered around faith, family and love. Anyone who knew her, knew that her greatest blessings in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thelma thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.
Thelma is the beloved mother to Wayne Alvey, John Alvey Jr. and wife Leah, Terrie Dietz and husband John, Cindy Alvey and the late Gary Alvey Sr. Thelma is the beloved grandmother of 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Thelma is also survived by her siblings Sharon Zepeda, David Smith, Joanne Desrosiers and preceded by her brother Forrest Smith.
