Robert (Bob) Francis Krysiak passed away peacefully on September 7 in the loving care of AccentCare Inpatient Hospice Center at MedStar Harbor Hospital-Baltimore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimir and Teresa Krysiak, and siblings, Bill, Agnes (Sapia), and Margie (Heflin). He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Constance (Connie, nee Fajkowski) Krysiak who was a constant source of love and support and was by his side faithfully until he drew his last breath. He is also survived by five sons, Thomas (Cyndi), Timothy, Daniel (Renee), Dennis (Rebecca), and Christopher as well as five grandchildren Daniel, Jennifer, Alex, Keri, and Alaina and two great-granddaughters Cheyenne and Marina all of whom he cherished beyond measure. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph (Dolores), of Baltimore, MD.
He grew up in Baltimore in the Canton neighborhood and was a devout Catholic who served as an altar server at St. Casimir Church in Canton as a youth. Bob was proud of his Polish roots and treasured Polish traditions-especially the food.
Bob spent his career at Inland-Leidy Chemicals where he supported data entry and computer operations for the company. Bob began working for the Baltimore Orioles as a seasonal employee in 1971. He continued with the organization for 50 years starting as a ticket taker and ending as a supervisor on Club Level. In 2021 he was honored for his 50 years of service to the Orioles by throwing out the first pitch, receiving an official jersey with his name and a party that included family and friends along with the Oriole Bird.
Aside from spending time with his family and friends, Bob valued his service to his country and was a veteran of the US Army. He loved cross-word puzzles and watching classic movies or westerns that were a big part of his youth. There was rarely a time when you would go into his home where one of those movies was not on the television. Bob was a longtime donor to the American Red Cross and had donated in excess of 26 gallons of blood.
Viewing will be held at Gonce Funeral Home on Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn, MD, from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on September 16 and 17. Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, September 18 at St. Anthanasius Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest with military honors in Meadowridge Memorial Park.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Red Cross at www.redcross.org/.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following paths God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found my peace at the close of day.
If my parting left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored much.
Good friends, good times,
A loved one's touch.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wants me now; He set me free.
