On February 10, 2026, Raymond Arthur Liebenthal passed away at age 90, and is reunited with his beloved late wife Elizabeth Liebenthal in Heaven. Raymond was the devoted father of Tom Counts and wife Joyce, Denny Counts Sr., Michael Liebenthal, and Vernon Liebenthal Sr. and wife Susan; cherished grandfather of Denny Jr., Kristin, and Vernon Jr.; cherished brother of the late Phyllis.
Raymond was a proud veteran of the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his lifelong sense of duty and honor. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Jane Frances Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His faith was a guiding force in his life, living his beliefs through service and fellowship. In his quiet moments, he found great joy tending to his garden, where he found peace and simple happiness.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to Hospice of the Chesapeake.
Relatives and friends may visit Gonce Funeral Service, 169 Riviera Drive, on Monday (February 16, 2026), from 3 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday (February 17, 2026) at 10 AM at St. Jane Frances Church. Raymond will be laid to rest with military honors in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Please feel free to leave your condolences on his tribute wall.
