Patricia Lynn (Elliott) Jacobs passed away peacefully on the evening of July 22, 2025, while in hospice care in her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jacobs, Jr. as well as her first husband, Donald W. Carr.
Patt, as she was known, was the only child of Garnett (Kilbourne) and Clifton Ford Elliott. She was born October 25, 1951, at the Lutheran Hospital of Maryland and she grew up in Anne Arundel County, where she spent her entire adult life. Her father, “Cliff” struggled with alcohol and gambling addictions following his service in World War II. Her mother, Garnett “Gee” struggled with mental health issues leaving Patt to often rely on her grandparents and extended family as a child.
Always looking forward with her head held high, she graduated from Northeast High School in 1969 with a large group of friends she would come to think of as family and keep close throughout their lives. Patt attended Anne Arundle Community College and studied accounting and bookkeeping. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald W. Carr, in 1972 and welcomed her only child a year later.
Patt had a varied and busy career which she was very focused on. She worked for Grand Union in the 70’s, In the 80’s she was a sales rep for Boyle Midway, and later launched a Spa Lady. In the late 80’s she worked for a record company (The Handleman Co.) where she had the opportunity to meet several of her music icons. In the 90’s she worked for a family-owned plumbing company (Reed and Reed) managing the office and books. In the late 90’s she used her beautiful voice and fantastic personality to start Blackberry Karaoke, in addition to her full-time job, and she could be found singing songs by Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Journey and other favorites in local Glen Burnie bars like, The All-American Sports Bar, JJ’s, Ashley’s and others. Patt retired from work full time in 2011 from East Coast Fire Protection and started a successful eBay business selling women’s clothing, making new friends and contacts across the country until she became ill in 2024.
While operating her karaoke company, she met Don Jacobs and later married him in 2003. They built a beautiful home together and spent time antiquing and enjoying their view of Marley Creek. Sadly, they would only be married for seven years before Don became ill and passed from cancer in September of 2010.
Patt is survived by her daughter Alissa, son-in-law Mike Phebus and grandsons Dalton and Wade. She will be missed by close cousins Cheryl (Cook) Vecchioni (Joe) and Wayne Cook (Karen) as well as her many ‘sisters of the heart’ and those that called her Mama Patt.
Known for saving dozens of animals in her time on earth, including the ones that are usually overlooked, Patt requested no flowers, but donations to one of her favorite rescue groups in her name so her legacy of loving animals will live on.
