Pamela Jean Belt

Our precious mother, Pamela Jean Belt , went home to be with Jesus on October 28 at age 77. Pamela, known as Jean to those who loved her, was born to Ivan and Elsie Boylen on November 18, 1948 in Baltimore, MD. As a child, her family moved to Grafton, WV where she was raised with great love beside her six brothers and sisters.

In 1966 Jean met her forever love, Larry Belt, at a church service while visiting Baltimore. They were married that same year on December 3 and moved to Baltimore to begin their lives together. Jean and Larry went on to have four children, Marie, Amanda, Michele, and Ricky.

Jean was a dedicated  mother and wife for 59 years. She loved her children beyond measure.

Our Mom was a homemaker and also a daycare provider. For many years she molded tiny lives and made family out of friends by caring for children in her home. She cherished those children and their families greatly.

Jean was a natural caregiver who shared her love with everyone through warm hugs, encouraging words, great food, and sincere prayers. She was a joyful soul who loved to sing and rock babies, cook a good meal, and work in her garden. She loved watching birds on her porch with a cup of black coffee, reading, antiquing road trips, and spending time with extended family and friends.

Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Her prayers moved mountains.

Jean joins her beloved children Michele and Ricky, her parents, Ivan and Elsie, and her siblings, Sparkie, Denny, Mark, Kathy, and Diane in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Larry, her sister, Rita Kay, her children, Marie (Timothy), Amanda  (Tom). Also her grandchildren, Tim (Valerie), Daniel, Nathan, Tommy (Sunny) Kylie (Cole) and Stanley who were the delight of her life. As well as many other family members and friends who Jean counted as family. All who will miss her dearly.

The family requests relatives and friends visit the family owned Gonce Funeral Service, P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Monday (November 3, 2025) from 3PM - 5PM and 7PM - 9PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday (November 4, 2025) at 11AM followed by the interment in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
