Nancy Louise Lee (Matulaitis), 67, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Born on November 19, 1957, in the same city she called home throughout her life, Nancy’s journey was marked by dedication to her family, her work, and the many friendships she nurtured along the way.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Spaulding Catholic High School and went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Anne Arundel Community College. Her professional life reflected her deep commitment to education and service. She spent over two decades at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she served as an Associate Dean for more than 21 years. Her leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on colleagues and students alike. Following her tenure at Johns Hopkins, Nancy returned to Anne Arundel Community College—this time as a program assistant in workforce development—where she devoted another 17 years to supporting educational advancement in her community.
Nancy’s life was enriched by the love of her family and many friends that she touched in her life. She was a devoted mother to her daughter Shannon Lee of Pasadena, Maryland and a caring sister to Mark Matulaitis and his wife Colleen Matulaitis, of Berlin, Maryland. She held close the memory of her parents, Adair C. Matulaitis and Albert C. Matulaitis, as well as her significant other, Charles Dulany all who have passed away. She leaves behind one nephew Sean Matulaitis of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, with wife Angel and great nephew Sylas, and two nieces, Sara Timm of Westminister, Maryland, with husband Andy and two great nieces Maddie & Charlie, and Amy Bokansky of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, with husband Brad, and three great nephews Bradley, Ian, and Harper.
Outside of work and family, Nancy found joy in traveling with friends and loved ones. Whether it was a spontaneous trip to the casino or a bus ride to New York City at Christmas, she cherished these moments of adventure and connection. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends whether for family functions or just because, and if someone was ill. Her happiest times were often spent simply being with those she cared about most her closest friends and family. Family and Friends were everything to Nancy. She always lived in the minute and made memories as she thought those were one of the most important things in life.
Nancy attended Catholic masses at St. Jane Frances Church throughout her life, grounding herself in faith and community.
Her warmth, loyalty, and enduring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
