Michael Green Obituary

Michael P. Green, of Linthicum Maryland, passed away on January 27th, 2024.

Michael, fondly known as Mike or Greenie, was born to Lois and Thomas on May 3rd 1960 while Thomas was stationed in the Army in Hawaii.

Mike was a talented athlete, who enjoyed all sports as a youth. After graduating, in 1978, Mike secured a position at Westinghouse, which later became Northrop Grumman. In the 46 years employed, he would later become the president of the IUE-CWA, where he was in charge of fighting for the benefits of his co-workers. Mike was often known to help others, sometimes being repaid with a simple handshake or a round of drinks. Throughout the years Mike made many friends, who he would even consider more like family.

When he wasn’t working, Mike was a family man. Blood didn’t matter. He proudly raised his daughter along with four boys. Mike took his love for sports and got every child involved in extra-curricular sports and activities. He happily coached little league for many years until the children went into high school. During the summer, Mike would take his whole family to the beach, where he spent his time in the sand from sunup to sundown. He lived every single moment for his family and found his greatest joy in spending time together.

He also enjoyed being with friends, some from as far back as childhood, others whom he met from his many weekends spent at Duck Neck Campground. Mike enjoyed being on the water and crabbing with his friends and family. He was a grill master, who loved to cook for others. It wasn’t a secret that he was also a huge fan of all Maryland sports. He never missed watching a game.

Mike is survived by Christina (Kenjie), Tim (Jennifer), Jason (Michelle), Steve (Jessica), Matt (Leigh) with sixteen grandchildren, Timmy, Sarah, Hailey, Qwinton, Charleigh, Alyssa, Lexi, Lily, Addy, Abby, Ruby, McKenna, Talyn, Oz, Olive, and Ace and one great-grandchild, Brantley, as well as one sister, Donna (Jim), and two brothers, Gary, Keith (Tina). His step-mother Gerry, and many nieces and nephews, Kathy, James (Nicole), Jimmy, Doug (Sarah), Jason (Ashley), Georgie and Dana. He was in a relationship for seven years with Renee O’Hara, and also cared deeply for her children.

Mike was predeceased by his father Tom, mother Lois, and wife Sheila.

Mike’s family will host a celebration of life on Sunday February 4th from 12-7pm at 1335 Linden Ave, Arbutus MD 21227. All are welcome. Overflow parking at the firehouse.
