Marie H. Hawes

Marie (Haupt) Hawes, at the age of 101, passed away peacefully on January 27th 2026.

She was born on August 4th 1924, in Baltimore Maryland. Marie dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband, John, and three children. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, husband, John F Sr, and son, John F Jr. and daughter in law Sharon (Jim’s wife). She is survived by her two sons, Glenn (Sherri) and Jim. Marie was grandmother to 11 grandchildren and numerous great grand children. Marie lived in her Baltimore Highland’s neighborhood for almost 70 years and  was loved by her neighbors. Marie was a dedicated and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and carried others to God in prayer. She was an avid and talented crocheter whose creations brought comfort, warmth, and joy to others. Marie had a lifelong love for dogs.

Relatives and friends may visit Gonce Funeral Service, P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway on Monday (February 2, 2026) from 10 to 11 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
