On April 11, 2026, Marie Beck (nee Rush) passed away at age 95. Marie lived a full and meaningful life. She graduated from Seton High School before pursuing her passion for caregiving in nursing school. In 1951, she earned her certification as a Registered Practical Nurse and began her career at St. Agnes Hospital, where she dedicated a year to caring for others.
It was during her time working at the Baltimore Gas Company that she met her beloved husband, Bob, and married in 1953.
Alongside her husband and neighbors, she co-led the Stardettes Majorette group from 1963 to the mid 70’s, creating lasting memories and friendships.
In 1968 she returned to work as a clerk, demonstrating determination and a strong work ethic that would define her professional life. Through years of dedication, she rose to the position of Vice President at Maryland National Bank, retiring in 1988 with a legacy of accomplishment and respect.
She found great happiness in life's simple pleasures - camping trips with her family, crafts, genealogy and continuing to learn through classes at the Senior Center. Her greatest love of all was her family. She cherished every opportunity to bring loved ones together and always hosted family gatherings during the holidays.
Marie joins beloved family in Heaven: her husband Robert V Beck, parents William Joseph and Edna Anthony Rush, brother William Joseph Rush Jr. and wife Marguerite, aunts Betty Martin and Irene Rush, Uncle Frank Rush, grandchild Thomas, and great grandchild Sebastian.
Marie was the devoted mother of Kathleen Marie Beck, Patricia Ann Ketterer and husband William Ketterer; cherished grandmother of Dennis Blake and wife Abby, Melanie Toskov and husband Matt, Robert Ketterer, Kristina Hackley, Matthew Ketterer and Renee Ketterer; dear great grandmother of Logan and his wife Caitlin, Gavin, Joshua, Savanna, Ethan, Harmony, Zachary.
