Lourdes Love

With deepest regrets, on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, Lourdes Benjamin Love of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away at 86 years of age, following a spirited battle against cancer. She was a beloved mother and respected member of her community.

Lourdes was born in Makati, Philippines, on September 18th, 1939 to Glicerio Benjamin and Conception Baquilta, as one of their four children. After completing Pio del Pilar High School, she attended Far Eastern University where she graduated in 1963 with a Bachelors in Banking & Finance, and a minor in Accounting. From here, Lourdes emigrated to the United States in 1974 and found her way to become a secretary at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Along the way, Lourdes married Terrico James Love and had one son - James Glicerio Love. During her time, she enjoyed dancing and karaoke, while also serving to transport the statue of the Blessed Mother to places and people in need of spiritual strength.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by former husband, Terrico, and siblings, Cecilia and Loreto Benjamin. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; with her brother Alberto, 2 nieces and nephews, and plenty of grand and great grand nieces and nephews back in the Philippines.

Visiting will be at Gonce Funeral Service, P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Sunday (November 16, 2025) from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be Monday (November 17, 2025) at 11 A.M. at St. Athanasius Church.
