Leroy Burns, Jr., 72, of Pasadena, MD, passed away on August 6, 2024 after a fight with metastatic melanoma.
Leroy (AKA Roy) was born on July 16, 1952 to Leroy and Margaret LaBerta Cummings Burns in Brooklyn Park, MD. He grew up with his parents and 3 sisters and most of all enjoyed playing or tormenting his sisters.
In March of 1998, Roy met Tracey at Calvert Cliffs Power Plant. Roy is a father of 2 sons (Will and Roy) when he married Tracey with her 3 daughters (Crystal, Heather & Tiffany). They were married for 25 years in June of 2024.
In 2018, Roy retired and spent his time camping with his wife and kids, hunting whenever he could, spending time at grandchildrens’ activities and sports games, taking excellent care of his girls, “de-cluttering” the house and having no regrets if he threw it away without asking, playing cards, and always trying to teach us funny sayings.
Roy was predeceased by his parents LeRoy and Margaret Burns, his sister Karen Watts, and his stepdaughter Crystal Davis. He was survived by his wife Tracey Burns, his sisters Lori Lyons and Deborah Silcott, his stepdaughters Heather Pleasant and Tiffany Fee, his sons Will Burns and Roy Burns and his 7 grandchildren Breanna, Landry, Jackson, Tara, Brayden, Addilyn and Rowan.
He was an angel here on earth that has now gone to Heaven. He was a selfless man and loved his family and wife more than anything. To know him was to love him and everyone around him felt his joy and love.
Family requests relatives and friends visit Gonce Funeral Service, 169 Riviera Drive, on Friday (August 16, 2024) from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM.
Feel free to express your condolences on his tribute wall.
