Joseph Lee Sassman, Jr.

   On January 7, 2022, Joseph Lee "Joe" Sassman Jr. passed away at age 34. Raised in Baltimore, Joe attended Patterson High School and shortly after met the love of his life, Monica. They happily married in 2013. He worked for 16 years for the UPS Warehouse in Dundalk. Joe was a huge Dallas Cowboys Fan, amazing karaoke singer and the light of the party. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and immediately make them feel like family. But his world was his wife and his "girls", the family dogs Sophie and Penny. 

       "Joe was genuine and good! He was a devout Christian and truly lived by his motto Faith over Fear. He shared that with me as his wife and with everyone he knew"

      Joseph Lee Sassman, Jr. was the beloved husband of Monica Sassman; devoted son of Joseph Sassman and the late Kimberly Mitchell; cherished brother of Amber Mitchell & fiancé Dave Richter and Jacoby Sassman; dear son in law of Dorothea and Michael Biel Sr.; brother in law of Christina Biel & companion Justin Tanner and Michael Biel II. He was the loving uncle of David, Avery, Noah, Linden, Scarlett (a god daughter) and Jesse, and was also known as Uncle Joe to Abigail (a god daughter) Isabella, Emily, Brandon, and Joe. He was also blessed with an abundance of friends who he considered his family.

   Family and friends may visit Gonce Funeral Service P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Monday, January 17th, 7-9pm and Tuesday, January 18th, 11:30am to 1pm, at which time service will be held. Joe will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemtery immediately following services.
