Joseph A. Harkum Jr.

      It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Joseph Arthur Harkum Jr. of Pasadena, Md. Joe was 64 years old, born August 29, 1960 in Cumberland Maryland, Joe passed away peacefully at home Friday evening, March 7th of natural causes. 

      He is survived by his wife Diane Marie Harkum, his son Joseph Arthur Harkum III (wife Allison Harkum), his daughters: Kristen Marie Harkum and Nikki Jean Harkum, and the 3 greatest joys of his life:  his 3 grandsons, Noah, Nathan and James. Cherished brother of Timothy Lee Harkum, Kathy Jean Harkum, Arthur Evans Harkum and Beverly Eva Locantore, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

      He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Arthur Harkum Sr, and Beverly Ginevan Harkum, and his sister Cresenthia Teresa Hessler. 

      Joe loved his country and served proudly in the AirForce and Army. He was a master craftsman, who loved carpentry. He absolutely loved being Pop, it truly was his greatest joy in life. We remember Joe as a man who had a good time everywhere he went, he loved with all his soul and had a heart of gold.  He would give you all his paycheck and/or the shirt off his back. He was a unique character, stated whatever was on his mind and could he ever deliver a joke. He will be missed beyond measure

      Family requests relatives and friends to visit the family owned Gonce Funeral Service P.A. 169 Riviera Dr. Pasadena MD 21122 on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 11 AM. Followed by interment with military honors in Holy Cross Cemetery.
