Jay Murray Bass

Jay Murray Bass, 62, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on November 15, 2024. Born on March 6, 1962, Jay lived a fulfilling life marked by commitment to his family and community. 

Jay is survived by his loving wife Susan, his brothers Jeff and Jim, and his children Justin, Jessica, and JJ. Jay was also a proud grandfather to Julian, Jacob, Jude, and Jamison. Jay was preceded in death by his father John, mother Geraldine, and brother John. His lightheartedness and teachings remain a guiding light for his family and friends. 

An avid golfer, Jay often found joy and relaxation on the greens. Jay was also a talented handyman, always ready to take on a new project around the house or lend his expertise to family, friends, and neighbors in need. For many years Jay was also a dedicated coach, passionate about the sports he loved, and devoted much of his time to mentoring young athletes. His guidance on and off the field helped shape the lives of many in his community. 

Jay's life was a testament to the values of family and community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Family requests relatives and friends visit Gonce Funeral Service, 169 Riviera Drive, on Sunday (11/24/2024) from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be Monday at 11 AM followed by interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park.
