Juknelis, James A.
Jim was born March 15, 1952 to the late Joseph and Anna Juknelis. Born and raised in South Baltimore, and grew up in Catonsville. He was a graduate of Cardinal Gibbons High school, and always kept in touch with his classmates. He loved good old classic rock and roll music. He played guitar and piano, and even had his own bands throughout the years, including "No Exit" who he played with his son Scott. Jim worked for Mercy hospital as Material Operator for many years. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. A Devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Jim had many roles in the Knights of Columbus Council 14612. Throughout his dedicated service he served as Recorder, Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight, Outer Sentinel, Faithful Captain, Faithful Navigator and Faithful Admiral. His tireless efforts and leadership left a lasting impact on the organization. He will be loved and missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
On June 2nd, 2023. James "Jim" A Juknelis was called home by the lord. He was 71 years old. He is the Beloved husband of Sallie Dicus 18 years of marriage; Loving father of Scott Anthony Juknelis, David James Juknelis and wife Jessica, Stepfather of Sarah Dicus, Susanne Dicus Caulder, and husband Sam, Katie Dicus Pippin and husband Michael and Thomas Dicus; Jim was blessed with 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; He is the cherished brother of Joseph Frank Juknelis and wife Helen, and Diane Elizabeth Tichnell. Jim was also loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family requests relatives and friends visit the family owned Gonce Funeral Service P.A. 4001 Ritchie Highway on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Anne Arundel County Animal care and control, and St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.
May Sir Knight Jim Juknelis rest in eternal peace, and may God grant comfort to all those grieving his loss.
