Harry Robert Higdon

        On September 1, 2021, Harry Robert Higdon passed away at age 85. Mr. Higdon was the beloved husband of the late Eileen Elizabeth Higdon; devoted father of Larry and wife Donna, Donald and wife Deborah, and James and wife Dana; dear brother of Barbara Vitak; blessed with 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and boyfriend and loving companion of Bobbi Burr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ernestine Higdon, and siblings, Lawrence, William, David, Betty, Dorothy and Margie.

        Harry was a retired warehouseman from Lever Brothers Company where he formed lasting lifelong friendships that he cherished to the end. He enjoyed his retirement with family and friends, especially the warm summertime. God, how Harry hated the cold weather. Harry was extremely proud of his three sons and spoke of them and their families often. A pool or shuffleboard game could always be found on his calendar. An avid crabber his entire life, nowadays he prefers steaming, eating and picking his little crustaceans. The bounty of picked meat, for crab cakes and soup, would sustain his existence throughout the winter months until spring. The winter also gave him time to work on his ship and plane models which are displayed on his walls. In the spring time he emerged as the grass cutter of Hyde Park. When not cutting lawns he was either in his lawn chair with straw hat (bird included), taking a nap or tending to his flowers with Bobbi. The evening would find him enjoying a cigar with Bobbi around the firepit under the watchful eye of Mr. and Mrs. Fox.

        A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hyde Park Community Hall, 9618 Cordova Road, Easton, Maryland (enter the park and make two immediate lefts to find the Clubhouse).
