Genelio Veras Obituary

Genelio Veras departed from this life on June 18th, 2024. He was born in the Bronx, NY on September 25, 1987. He graduated High School from Free State Academy in 2005. Genelio was a devoted father to Jesenia and Jayleen Veras; and loving husband to Rosa Veras.

In his spare time, he loved watching Football, art/ drawing, writing poems, gardening, hiking, going on adventures and long walks with his dog (Mocha) but most of all spending time with his family. He was kindhearted, thoughtful, and selfless. He enjoyed having conversations of what "ifs" just to make you laugh. He was the life of the party. He was not ready to go if the party wasn't over. No one can forget his infectious laugh. He really knew how to light up a room. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Genelio was a very upfront and confident man. He was always supportive and admired. He always looked out for people and put others before himself. In trying times he would always try his hardest to put a smile on everyone's face. Genelio was never afraid to be himself. He was a man that always protected his daughters and family. He loved telling them his silly dad jokes although they would just stay silent, but would laugh at him for laughing at his own jokes. Genelio was a jack of all trades: electrician, roofer, concrete. A real handyman. Genelio loved to workout and hit the weights. He loved introducing people to new things. A big man with a big heart, he was very supportive in everything. Everybody that ever talked to him would always end up with a smile on their face.

Genelio leaves to cherish his memory, his mother Justina Peña, father David Antonio Veras; his brothers Welbys Veras (passed), David Veras, Davidson Veras, and Justin Veras; three nephews, Isaiah, Jovanni, Anthony, and W. Antonio; and two nieces, Leilani and Sasha.

"When the sun rises and sets think of him as he sat on the beach to see a new day."
