Frederick Robert Engel

Fred grew up in Glen Burnie Park. He moved to Pasadena where he raised his family. Fred was very involved with his children’s activities. He coached or helped coach both of his children through baseball, soccer and basketball. Fred was President of the Pasadena Baseball Club and remained involved even after stepping down. He was also very active in the Buccaneers basketball program.

An avid baseball fan, Fred started traveling to different ballparks in his late teens. This continued through his adult life. His wife joined him on many of these trips until his son was old enough to take her place.

Fred loved spending weekends hiking or going on long drives, seeking out breweries, wineries and distilleries, making sure to stop at every historical marker along the way.

He loved any time he could spend with family, extended family, and friends who became family.

Fred leaves behind his wife, Anna Hoyer Engel,
and children, Robert Engel and Celia Engel.
He is survived by his mother, Ann Engel, and
siblings, Alan Engel, Bruce Engel, Carol Ann Rider, Christine Silcox, David Engel, Elizabeth Fletcher and his twin Frank Engel. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his father, Robert Engel.
