Francis Linwood (Lenny) Shaw, Jr., 76, died suddenly on Saturday morning, April 5. Lenny was a long-time resident of Arundel Meadows in Hanover, Maryland and most recently lived in Brooklyn Park, Maryland. Born in Eastport, Maryland to Emma Irene and Francis L Shaw, Sr., Lenny grew up at Rolling Knolls and played baseball and football for the Annapolis Elks.
In 2022, Lenny retired from his career as a sales representative in the auto parts industry at various companies including RPS, Annapolis Auto Parts, and Parts Diversified. Prior to that time, Lenny also held jobs at Annapolis Marina, Annapolis Sailboat, and ShoeTown.
Music was Lenny’s life passion. He played bass guitar and performed for many years in several bands including Truckin, Norton Norts, Appaloosa, and The Avalons. In 2016, Appaloosa was honored at the Maryland Entertainment of the Year awards ceremony. Lenny was delighted to be recognized at this important event. When not playing music, Lenny enjoyed socializing with others…he was a kind and generous friend and especially enjoyed his “family” at Milts Rendezvous.
Lenny is survived by his sister Carolyn "Pat" Sherbert and her husband Chester Linwood; a brother, David Shaw and his wife, Michele. He is predeceased by his sister, Priscilla Jane Shaw. Lenny was a loving uncle to Darrell and Dawn Sherbert, Michael and Barbara Sherbert, Tracey and John Shore, Jesse Shaw and Kathy Leslie, Austin and Whitney Shaw and great uncle to Gregory, Carly, Brittany, Matthew, Kelsey, Dylan and Graham Sherbert, Sara and Austin Marcum, Kaitlyn and Max Mason, Alison Shore, and Logan, Madison and Josephine Shaw.
