Edward "Eddie" Smith, age 58, of Baltimore, Maryland, departed this world on Sunday, November 20, 2022.
Eddie was born on December 28, 1963 to Shirley and the late Albert Smith. He was a lifelong resident of Pigtown; where he was known to many as Little Eddie, or Headstand Eddie.
The life he lived would have sent a lesser man to his grave decades earlier. Eddie was undeniably unforgettable. A unique character with an often chaotic (sometimes entertaining) presence, yet he was a kind soul.
A few of his favorite activities included shooting pool, gambling, taking Polaroids, having a beer, unannounced house visits, spending time with Mutter & Peppie, and creating colorful memories for his sister Feets. He loved playing blackjack and the thrill of go big or go home. If he left the casino busted, you'd hear, "Listen to me. Listen to me. They got me this time, but I'm gonna bust their ass next time", accompanied by an optimistic grin and laugh.
Eddie is survived by his son, Shane Edward Smith; mother Shirley Smith; siblings James Lambert Sr., Joseph B. Earhart, Howard E. Earhart, and Cheryl (Thomas) Keefer. Nieces and Nephews called him Uncle E, and include Mandy Smith, Megan Comegys, Myranda Cory, Daniele Keefer, Darren Keefer, Jamie Lambert, James Lambert Jr., Christi Lambert, Shannon Lambert, William, Jay, and Clay Earhart.
Eddie also leaves behind his loyal feline friend Pepper "Peppie".
In the next realm he will be joining his father Albert Smith; great-niece Alayna; brother Alan and sister in law Barbara Smith. Go in peace and do your thing Uncle E, cause dems my rules!
Everybody has an Eddie story, so please join us at his service and share yours. In Eddie's honor we ask that you (responsibly) have a beer with a friend, play a few games of Racetrax, or execute an impressive headstand -- perhaps before or without the beer though!!
