Dwaine A. Shirey

Dwaine Anthony Shirey (63) passed away peacefully surrounded with the love of his beloved wife of 20 years Deborah A Shirey and former wife, mother of his two children Eileen M Bennett on November 8, 2025.

Dwaine, the son of Joyce L Shirey and the late Richard J Shirey was born on December 27, 1961 in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. He graduated in 1979 from North West Christian Academy where he enjoyed soccer, track and field and long distance running. After graduation he followed in his father’s footsteps in the airline industry, working for Piedmont Airlines in 1981.  He relocated to Maryland in 1983 and continued on with US Airways retiring early after a lengthily career of over 20 years.  He continued to work after that for Potbelly Sandwich Works and Bob Bell Ford until his health no longer allowed.

Dwaine was a man of God. He loved fishing in the Florida Keys and his parent’s lake house in South Carolina. He loved hunting, vacations with his wife and family, taking care of his yard, swimming in his pool and cooking. Above everything he loved his family.

Along with his father he was preceded in death by his great granddaughter Isabella and precious nana Sullivan.

Surviving in addition to his wife, former wife and mother are his brother Timothy Shirey and wife Carolyn, his daughter Amber Jones (Krystle), son Damon Shirey (Pauline) 2 step daughters: Melissa Becker (George), Carrie Seckman (Dan), 11 grandchildren: Charles, Aidin, Kinsleigh, Sarina, Elliott, Gabriel, Atrus, Josh, Kelly, George, Grayson, 3 great granddaughters: Scarlett, Everly, Harper and family both by blood and not.

Friends and relatives may visit Gonce Funeral Service, P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Friday (November 14, 2025) 3PM - 5PM and 7PM - 9PM. The funeral service will begin at 7:30PM.
