Doris Fischer Obituary

On November 14, 2019 Doris Naomi Fischer passed away at age 90. A devout Lutheran, Mrs. Fischer was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Brooklyn since the age of 9, and loved her church. Doris was a Valentines Day Bride in 1953 when she married Henry Fischer. They then moved into Glen Burnie, and lived there happily together for 66 years. She worked as a gift wrapper at Hutzlers Department store in Baltimore during the 50s and 60s and later worked for 20 years as a cashier for the Horn & Horn Restaurant in Glen Burnie. Game shows, Court Shows, Baltimore Orioles,  and Dr. Phil were some of her favorites on TV, and her husband was happy when she would watch Old Westerns on the GRIT channel with him. Doris always had cats running around in her home, but when her dog Tobey came along, he ruled, and there were no more cats!

Doris Naomi Fischer was the beloved wife of Henry Fischer; devoted mother of Holly Kinstler, and Timothy Fischer and wife Beth; loving grandmother of Ray Kinstler and wife Stacie, Daniel Kinstler and wife Nicki; dear sister of Betty Kriewald and the late Edna Baesch, Anna May Martin and Nelson Gretsinger. She was also blessed with great grandchildren Ryan, Caitln, Madison and Wyatt.
