On October 15, 2023 Dennis William Coleman Sr. passed away from heart disease at age 80. Raised in Brooklyn by his widowed mother, Jessie Theresa Coleman, as a young boy he spent his summers with his Uncle Marty and Aunt Mary Davitt in Scranton, PA. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, and graduate of Southern High School. He married his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen on November 17, 1962. They became members of St. Clements Church in Lansdowne, were parishioners there, and bought a home in Lansdowne in 1964. He also became a member of the Sons of the American Legion in honor of his father's service in the U.S. Navy. Dennis retired after 40 years with the A&P Tea company/Super Fresh food markets, but was also a Master Barber by trade. He worked over 15 years at the barber shop in Farmer's Market on Ritchie highway in Brooklyn, and also cut hair in several barber shops including J&D's on Hammonds Ferry rd. He eventually opened his own shop "Den's Day Spa" in Brooklyn Park. Dennis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially fishing, crabbing, and hunting with his family, grandkids, and friends on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
"A kind, loving, and generous man, Dennis was always providing a helping hand to those who needed it. He loved many, and was loved by many."
