David A. Lotz, Sr. 83, of Linthicum Heights died on May 12, 2024, with his wife by his side.
David was born on March 27, 1941 in Harrisburg, PA and was the son of the late Blanche (Wilton) and William H. Lotz, Sr. He graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA and later earned a degree in Business Administration from UMBC. He served in the US Air Force from 1959 until 1963. David was retired from the National Security Agency where he worked for more than 38 years. He was a parishioner at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Linthicum for more than 50 years where he served as an usher, head usher, and a grand knight of the Knights of Columbus. David had great interests in Military Aviation, Automobiles, and was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.
David is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joanne M. (Shuler) Lotz, hers sons, David A. Jr. of Chesapeake, VA, Andrew W. Lotz of Gambrills, Timothy J. Lotz of Silver Spring, daughter Bonnie J. Rubel of Glen Burnie, eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his bothers, William H. Lotz, Jr. and Joseph S. Lotz, and sisters Ruth Lotz and Joan McGraw.
Viewings will be held on Thursday May 16 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the Gonce Funeral Home, 4001 Ritchie Hwy, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 18 at 1pm at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6405 S. Orchard Rd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090.
