Truett, Daniel J.

      On May 25, 2024, Daniel Joseph Truett of Halethorpe, Maryland, passed away at the age of 76. He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Sophie Truett and his wife of 27 years, Judy Ann Truett.

      He is loved and will be missed as the beloved husband of 20 years to Darlene Angela Truett, devoted father of Robin Single and her husband John, Jennifer Wick and her husband Karl, Matthew Truett and his wife Laura, Rodney Gannon and Mary Keller and her husband Jason, brother of Timothy Truett and his wife Lee, Eugene Truett and his wife Leona, loving grandfather of Tara, Tiffany, Tory, Andrew, Abigail, Joshua, Emma, Brady, Benjamin, Beckett, Piper, Hunter, Madeline, Nicholas, Amber and Olivia, great-grandfather of Kensliegh and Landon.

      Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Dan graduated from Lansdowne High School in 1966. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, trained to be a helicopter mechanic and served honorably as a Sergeant during two tours in Vietnam. He was also stationed at the Naval Air Station in Keflavik, Iceland for a short time. Mr. Truett was employed in the hospitality industry for the majority of his career at the Friendship Hotel, the Hilton Baltimore and the Rose Restaurant in Linthicum for 26 years. He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino, attending NASCAR races, Orioles games, watching his favorite show, NCIS, and spending time with friends and family. As a young man, he loved fast cars and racing them through neighborhood streets.

      All are welcome to a visitation at Gonce Funeral Service P.A. 4001 Ritchie Highway in Baltimore, MD 21225, on Saturday June 1st from 2-4 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 4 PM. Interment in Crownsville Veterans Cemetery on Thursday June13th at 11:30 AM. Everyone please meet at cemetery by 11:15 AM.
