On November 17, 2022, Crystal Lynn Davis passed away at age 43.
Crystal attended Calvert High School and then Ryder University in New Jersey where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in sports and business. She took an internship with the Redskins for Sports Broadcasting and later worked with the Capitals hockey team. It was, however, when she took a position as a computer aide with an elementary school in Waldorf that she fell in love with teaching. Crystal went back to school and earned her Master’s degree in teaching and recently celebrated 15 years with Benjamin Stoddert middle school where she worked as an Instructional Resource teacher. With all this education, she still could not boil an egg and her sisters teased her about her lack of cooking skills.
Crystal was a long time member of Real Life Church in Mechanicsville, Maryland. She played softball in college and later coached La Plata High School girls’ softball. She was patient and kind to all, had a contagious laugh and was the most selfless person. Crystal’s accomplishments were many but her children were the center of her world and she never missed their ballgames.
Crystal Lynn Davis was the loving mother of Tara and Brayden Davis; devoted guardian of Ki’mon Wright; beloved daughter of Tracey and Roy Burns, Anthony and Pam Jones; cherished sister of Heather Jones, Tiffany Fee, and Sarah Jones; dear granddaughter of William and Charlotte Weaver and Marie Mings; also blessed with nieces Breanna, Addilyn and Rowan, and many other loving family members.
A visitation will be held at Gonce Funeral Service, P.A., 169 Riviera Drive on Tuesday 2-4 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held in Real Life Church, Mechanicsville, MD at a later date. Please check back for details.
