Barbara Katherine Oster, 71, Beloved wife of the late William Edward Oster and devoted mother of Kristopher Edward Oster passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020.
Barbara was born in Pasadena, Maryland, on August 9, 1948, to the late Joseph Russo and the late Virginia Russo.
Barbara had a creative gift and made beautiful ceramics and numerous crafts to give to family and friends. Many years of illnesses couldn’t diminish her love of the Food Network or her humor. She never missed an episode of Survivor and the Amazing Race, stating how fun it would be to be on those shows. She worked several jobs in her life time but her favorite was working at the Baltimore Police Department as an OAIII, where she was known as the candy lady and retired in 2013 after 16 years of service.
She is survived by her son Kris, who she loved dearly, six siblings: Anna (Ray) Vogelsang, Sis (Howard) Myers, Joe (Ruth) Russo, Linda (Tom) Gavin, Carlyn (Joe) Diamond & Will (Karen) Russo, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends, John & Linda Ruff and their daughters, Kim and Kandi, son Adam and Jim and Sandy Turner and their children Joe and Jaime.
Also preceding her in death are her niece Sandie Wollaston, sister-in-law Ruth Russo and brothers-in-law Ray Vogelsang, Howard Myers and Tom Gavin.
Barb will now be at peace, together with her Best Friend and Husband Bill and finally pain free.
The family requests relatives and friends to visit the family owned GONCE FUNERAL SERVICE P. A. 4001 Ritchie Hwy on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM. interment to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
