It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Day. Surrounded by her family, she departed this world on August 24, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on September 24, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Barbara was the cherished daughter of Everett Elwood Edelen and Pearl Louise Luckett. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Teddy Easton, and her grandson, Gregory Easton, along with her adored parents, and one brother Thomas Edelen.
Barbara found her soulmate in Bernard (Buck) Day, and together they shared 32 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.
Barbara was a devoted mother to her five children. She leaves behind her son, Jimmy Edelen, and his wife, Robin; her daughter, Cheryl Collette, and her husband, James; her daughter, Barbara Smith, and her husband, Bobby; and her son, John Martin.. She was the beloved stepmother to Belinda Denise Day. Each of her children carries with them the lessons and love she instilled in them throughout their lives. She also leaves behind one brother James Edelen.
Barbara's legacy continues in her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Leah, Armando (Melissa), Alex (Jenna), Skyler (Josh), Mark, Mykal, Destiny, Andraya, and Sarah. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Shayne, Carissa, Casidy, Chloe, Julie, Rebecca, Nathanial, Landon, Maddie, Ayden, Kyler, Asher, Lily, Iris, Ryliegh, and Olivia, along with a soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter. Each of them brought light into her life, and she delighted in each moment spent with them.
Professionally, Barbara dedicated 20 years of her life as she finished out her career as an aide assisting the handicapped at Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Her work touched countless lives, and she was known for her patience, compassion, and dedication to helping others.
Barbara's hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit; she loved swimming, partying, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family. Whether it was a simple gathering or a festive celebration, she brought people together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Her warmth, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends. As we say goodbye to Barbara Day, we remember her not only as a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend but as a woman who embodied love in its purest form.
In honoring her memory, we invite all who knew and loved Barbara to celebrate her remarkable life and the indelible impact she had on our hearts.
