Antonio “Tony” Herrera
June 13, 1949 – December 3, 2024
On December 3rd, 2024, Antonio “Tony” Herrera a US Air Force veteran and retired Army reservist peacefully passed away at the age 75. Tony was a graduate of Brooklyn Park High School, class of 1967 and long-time resident of the Baltimore area. Dear son of the late Santiago & Onelia Herrera. He retired after 35 years of civilian service from the US Coast Guard Yard, Curtis Bay where he was fondly remembered as “Chico” by his co-workers.
Husband to the late Betty Herrera, stepfather of Evan Berry and his companion, Nicole Bramble, Heidi Berry, Crystal Shull and grandfather of Layla Berry. He was a cherished brother to Sandy Herrera, wife Diann; Norma Brecht, husband Michael and Charlene Zaruba, husband, Ed. Also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews.
Such a kind and caring person, Tony, will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Family and friends may visit Gonce Funeral Service P.A., 4001 Ritchie Highway, on Monday (December 9, 2024) from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorial service to follow. Tony will be laid to rest in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville at a later date.
