Anna Buckler Obituary

Buckler, Anna B.

Anna Blanche Buckler (nee Serio) passed away on April 12, 2021. She was 73.
Born Nov. 20, 1947 in Severn, Md, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Serio of Brooklyn Park, Md.
After graduating from high school in 1966, Anna found a job at Westinghouse in Linthicum, Md. It was there she met and later married Ronald Vasicek of Gastonia, NC in July of 1970. They settled in Richardson, Texas.  Anna and Ron travelled the world over, then had two beautiful children, son Andrew Vasicek and daughter Erin Vasicek. They later moved to Greece, New York to continue raising their family.
In 2003, Anna moved from New York to her home state of Maryland, and it was there she met and later got remarried to her coffee buddy, David Buckler of Brooklyn Park. They enjoyed 15 1/2 years of wedded life together. Dave and Anna loved the easy slower paced retirement life in Delaware, and had just recently moved back to Maryland to be closer to family.
Anna was an avid believer and loved to go to church, sing, read and write. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing the guitar. Anyone who met her loved her. Her outgoing way, her spontaneous laugh and her love for people were what drew people to her. Whether it was the nursing home ministry where she'd bring in stuffed animals for the residents, or teaching Sunday school to children or adults, Anna was there, always caring for others and making a difference. She especially enjoyed her church at John 21 Ministries in Laurel, Delaware where she and Dave were embraced by a small loving church family. She loved to organize and host local revivals quarterly to uplift the people in her community.
She was very proud of all of her children and step children and loved them very much. Any time spent with family and friends was always a joy for her. She will be deeply missed and our lives are all the better for having her in them, for she was a very special person indeed.
She was the beloved wife of David Buckler and former wife of Ronald Vasicek and mother of son Andrew Vasicek and his wife, Dr. Kate Kurtin and mother of daughter Dr. Erin Vasicek and her husband, Bob Snow. Also step mother to daughters, Cheryl and husband Nick Saia, Oranda Buckler, Rebekah and husband Mahmoud Al-Hiyarat, and sons David, Scott, Aaron and Mark Buckler, and wife, Lari,  Aunt to nephew Sean Locklear and wife Jacqueline. She is also survived by her sister, Rita and husband Michael Hendrickson.
She is survived by grandsons, Luke and Griffin Vasicek, Michael Saia, Abdullah Al-Hiyarat and granddaughters Kara Buckler, Cassandra Buckler, Lauren Buckler and Alexis Buckler, Cierrah and Shannon Buckler, Ashley and Michelle Buckler, and and Ronya Al-Hiyarat and 12 great grandchildren, and a great nephew Lucas Locklear.  Also survived by a host of family and friends that loved her dearly.
