Violet C. Jones, 88 of Linthicum, MD. Passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on September 15, 2017. Violet was born in Chester, PA to the late Elmer and Grace (knee Bratton) Austin. Violet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.
Violet worked for 28 years as a department manager for Montgomery Ward at the Glen Burnie store. She enjoyed her job and gardening, but mostly her family and going on trips together.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Thomas G. Jones of Linthicum, two brothers Norman E. Austin and Elmer Austin, and sisters Priscilla Austin, Florence Jackson, Irene Deputy, and Hilda Hills, all of Delaware.
She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Donald R. Jones Sr., a daughter Donna Rae Pallozzi and husband Bill of Brooklyn Park, a son Donald R. Jones Jr. and wife Tina of Pasadena and 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and brother Joseph Auston from Dover, Delaware.
Family requests relatives and friends to visit the family owned Gonce Funeral Service P.A. 4001 Ritchie Highway on Monday from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service for Mrs. Jones will be on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at 90 Ritchie Highway Pasadena MD. 21122.
