On August 20, 2018 Bob Beloved husband of Louise Smith (Nee Zapotocky) ; Devoted father of Sharon Byrd and husband Robert, Cynthia Friedman, Diane Clouser and husband Scott and Brian Smith and wife Laura; Grandfather of Brandy Clark, Rebecca Bledsoe, Ashley Burnham, Ryan Clouser, William Burnham, Melissa Clouser, Aidan Smith and Evan Smith; Great-Grandfather of Kylee Bledsoe.

Bob was born and raised in Baltimore and lived his entire life in Maryland.  He served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington in the United States Navy and, prior to retirement, worked as a sheet metal foremen at the US Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay.  Bob loved spending time with his family.  He also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Ravens, Orioles and Terps.

Visit the family owned Gonce Funeral Service P.A. 4001 Ritchie Highway for a memorial gathering on Thursday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Memorial Mass on Friday at 12:00 P.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Inurnment Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
