Mr. Ollie was a wonderful, godly man. His kindness and sweet spirit were a light in my family's life. I was baptized with Dottie and Ollie forty years ago when I was just seven years old. He taught Sunday school for my son when he was five years old and was a loving example in his life. More recently he came to both Christopher, my oldest son's, graduation three years ago and my daughter Kayla's graduation in June. They appreciated having him there so much. We love you, Mr. Ollie!

Mr. Ollie and Mrs. Dottie were my Sunday school teachers all those years ago at Townsend Avenue Baptist Church. Mr. Ollie always had a smile on his face, and I could tell he loved teaching Bible stories to the kids in his class. Him and Mrs. Dottie were a great team. The last time I saw Mr. Ollie was at my high school graduation at the beginning of June of this year. I'm glad I can say that he was still as happy and as kind as ever!

Heaven has a special place for people like Mr. Ollie. My condolences go out to his family during this difficult time.

Our Uncle Ollie passed away last week and heaven is richer because of it. Whenever we saw him, he had a smile on his face and a story to tell. No matter what was going on in his personal life, he had time for anyone who needed him. He taught all of us what it means to be a good Christian. Uncle Ollie, you will be missed so much but none of us will ever forget the good man that you were and the incredible way you lived your life!

I am so sorry to hear about Ollie. He was a wonderful man, kind and funny. We first met at Gateway Village, when they came to look at the units, eventually buying one. I sat there in the lobby and no matter how many times Ollie would come by, he always took the time to stop and talk, to see how I was doing, how my family was doing or just to tell a funny little story. He truly cared about people and he certainly loved his family.. He was a good man and will be missed.

We have some great memories of Uncle Ol are when he and Aunt Dorothy last visited us in Columbia, SC. We enjoyed taking them to Billy Graham's Library, driving them through Fort Jackson (where Uncle Ollie said he clearly remembered a few of the buildings from his boot camp days), attending Kim's Steel Drum Band Concert (Kim posted a picture under the Photograph Tab of Uncle Ollie playing 2 steel drums), purchasing a couple of coins at a Coin Show and having lunch at Costco's, and enjoying a great dinner at the Capital City Club. On their last night here, Uncle Ollie picked up a harmonica to play, but said he could not play it sitting down. So he got up and started marching around the room playing 'Oh When the Saints Come Marching In'.
We have many, many fine memories of Uncle Ol and our children do as well. Both Kim and Mike have been sharing their recollections with Karen and me. Every time we think of one of those memories, it puts a smile on all of our faces. If it is at all possible, heaven just got a little bit better now that Uncle Ollie is there,

My brother Ollie was an inspiration to all. Whenever you talked to him, you felt like Our Lord was right in the room with us. He had a positive love for anyone who knew him. We feel that God was there to greet him as soon as he passed into eternal life. How joyful Ollie must have been when he was welcomed by his Mom and Dad, his brothers and sisters and all of his family. We will always remember the good times we shared with Ollie and Dorothy. We will hold him forever in our hearts.
