Drye, Don Orlando
On August 9, 2019, Don Drye passed away at age 86. Mr. Drye, a longtime resident of Ellicott City and Korean War Army Veteran, worked many different jobs during his lifetime. As a young man he worked for his father's Dry Cleaner on O'Donnell Street, then worked for several Trucking Companies and later worked as a Regional Sales Manager for the Maritime Industry. He even spent some time as a limousine chauffeur. Don was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Ellicott City and he was crazy about playing tennis, but most of all he was a family man, who loved to be with his children and grandchildren.
Don Drye was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn Drye (nee Ruhe) for over 60 years; devoted father of Christopher Drye and his wife Cyndi, Dawn Mislak and her husband David; loving grandfather of LeAnne Drye and Lori Mislak; dear brother of the late Berry Drye and his surviving wife Barbara, AJ West and his wife Summer; cherished brother in law of Roy Ruhe and his wife Pat; Uncle of Kim Ruhe.
Graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2019 at 11:30 am. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Avenue Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
