My Dear Sister in Law, or should I say sister.
We were like sisters long before you got together with my brother Tom. I was only 8 years old when I met you. You would color with me or fix my barbie’s hair. We were so close. Then you and Tom got together. We remained close as sisters. I wanted to look like you and do my nails and hair like you and you taught me how to do my nails and you cut my hair in the shag style of the 70’s. We used to go shopping at the shopping center in Brooklyn Park for hours. You always wanted a cold soda. Then when Maureen came along we had so much fun chasing her around the stores. I loved that little girl so much. We went through some years that we grew apart after my first marriage. However, we found each other again in recent years, unfortunately through your long illness. I cared for you the past year and a half as best I could. You would often say “ I should be taking care of you Nance, I am the big sister.” How suddenly our roles were reversed. You tried and tried to fight hard my sweet sister but your frail body had had enough. It was time for you to go and be with your precious Maureen and your parents. No more pain will you suffer. One day we will be there to join you in God’s beautiful kingdom. Until then I will miss you dearly my sister. I will always love you and cherish our memories and our talks. Love your little sister Nancy
